I never read much in high school. A teacher would tell us to read a book and instead of reading it, I’d go on Spark Notes to get the gist of everything.
Yet, one of the books I actually read in high school (or at least I think I did) was Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. If you’re not familiar with the book, it is a work of dystopian fiction that portrays a futuristic society where books have been outlawed. The title for the book gets its namesake from the temperature at which paper auto-ignites (fact check please).
I remember discussing the book—all my fellow classmates expressed their outrage at the idea of a government burning books. Though this was all too common in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and other totalitarian states in the 20th century, most American readers could never conceive that books would be censored in the slightest in America.
But now those same liberals who felt a deep sense of connection with the message of Fahrenheit 451 are calling for the censoring of books that don’t agree with their worldview.
SJW’s: Modern Totalitarians
In the last few weeks, we’ve seen an outpouring of SJW hysteria, calling to ban Roosh V’s books from Amazon, for promoting buzzword themes such as ‘rape culture’ and ‘misogyny’ (I can never spell that right). Here is the Change.org petition which as of this writing has around 79,000 signatures.
I want you to go right now and read some of the ‘Reasons for Signing’. These hysterical comments are just absolute lunacy:
Pua guru Daryush Valizadeh asks publicly his thousands of fanatics:

– to hack accounts
– to threaten a mum to take away her kids
– to videotape the sex when they rape women
– to straightout rape women
By the way, ‘TW’ stands for Trigger Warning. Seriously? What the hell is wrong with these people? When you take into account that over a quarter of Americans have a mental disorder, it begins to put things into perspective. But mental disorder or not, this is outrageous.
It’s simultaneously laughable and frightening that this call for banning books came after Roosh successfully held two lectures in Canada on his world tour (I attended the lecture in DC). Despite being denounced by major media outlets, politicians, and the social justice mob, Roosh won. They lost.
And now they’re not taking too kindly to their embarrassing defeat and are resorting to what they do best: Harassing major corporations to purge material that ‘triggers’ them.
One of their ‘arguments’ is that Roosh’s books promote rape. It boggles my mind as to how any rational, level-headed human being would think that a man would write a book promoting rape that would subsequently sell thousands of copies. Well, the reason is that they are not rational level-headed human beings.
SJW’s have no problem whatsoever having an innumerable amount of erotica on Amazon, where many stories consist of graphic sex bordering on rape, but when someone writes a guide on how to date women and sleep with them, everything shuts down.
I’ve read nearly all of Roosh V’s books, and in no book does he promote any sort of violent ideology.
Jaded? Sure. Angry? Occasionally. Horny? No doubt. But true, genuine hatred? Not one bit.
Banning Books: Bad for Business
I used to work at a Barnes&Noble. One of their policies was that they never pulled books off the shelf. In the case of B&N, it’s irrelevant if people are upset with them carrying a certain book, because they essentially have a monopoly on print books.
The same goes for Amazon.
In 2014 Amazon made $89 Billion. Is it really going to make a difference if a few green-haired zombies stop buying rape fantasies and hair dye from them? Not one bit.
The Power of Controlling Your Fate
As of now Roosh’s books appear on Amazon, but if for some reason they didn’t, he can still sell them through his own bookstore.
This is a powerful lesson that people should keep in mind: Control the means of production.
When you can’t control your income or business, you’re powerless. But when you give yourself the means to do so you’re invincible.
This was also seen the past few weeks when Roosh deployed his own media platform and its followers against the SJW mob. It worked.
Sure, it’s helpful for Roosh and other self-published authors to have Amazon as a means to reach people across the world. But if that’s not an option, then you have to find another way.
On the other hand, getting his books banned may be a positive thing. Think about all the books that have been banned in one form or another (e.g. Catch-22, Grapes of Wrath, Animal Farm, 1984), and the countries they’ve been banned in (North Korea, USSR, Cuba). Who’s on the right side of history?
Not only does having a book banned come with martyr status, but it may even increase book sales. Case in point:

I’m not sure whether this ban will actually happen, but if it does soon it may coincide with ‘Banned Books Week’ at the end of September which would serve as a great platform to sell more of his books.
What Drives People to Ban Books?
Governments and mobs alike are driven to extremes such as book burning out of fear. In the Soviet Union, Stalin was paranoid about the possibility of dissenting viewpoints that had even the slightest hint of challenging his authority. Recently, it came to my attention that the current ‘government’ in Kiev has banned Russian books that present a contrarian view to the current situation in Ukraine.
As for Roosh’s books, the liberal cartel fears masculinity. The nuclear family is the backbone of Western civilization, and the promulgation of this family unit only serves as a means to counteract big government which would undermine the left’s intentions.
Look at the way The Independent, a major (liberal) news outlet portrays Roosh:
A petition has been launched urging Amazon to stop selling books written by a controversial blogger who has called for rape committed in a private place to be legalised.
The anti-feminist blogger Daryush Valizadeh, who goes by the name ‘Roosh V’, shares tips on how to ‘pick-up’ women on his website, (such as “stop asking for permission”), and in his self-published books, which give advice on how to have more sex with women in different countries.
He also publishes a weekly news letter that details ways to isolate girls in bars and “defeat bedroom resistance” in one simple move.
…
No, committing rape is what he does.
To those who’ll cry ‘censorship’ – back off. He’s entitled to write and think and say what he likes. He’s not, however, protected from the backlash against his output, or removal of platform. This isn’t about banning books, it’s about ensuring he, and Amazon, can’t profit from rape.
Facts? Who cares about those?
This article is done to make Roosh look as bad as possible, and to the naïve person who is unfamiliar with his work they’d be quite successful. That said those who have read his works know that this isn’t the case one bit.
The fact of the matter is that if Roosh was some nobody, then the SJW’s could care less. There are plenty of guys out there writing similar content to Roosh, but they get not attention because they’re not a threat. It’s like a game of whack-a-mole—SJW’s know that opposition is always lurking, but they don’t strike until the person who disagrees with them becomes vulnerable and out of the shadows.
Though Roosh has a relatively small following and hasn’t written a New York Times Bestseller, this act of sought after censorship sets a dangerous precedent.
The Future of Censorship
One would think that as time goes on society would become even more open-minded and less critical of other people’s works; the opposite is happening. With the rise of fanatical liberals and Muslims, those that offer contrarian views are putting their well-being at stake.
But what about classic works that already exist? For instance, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is banned in many American school districts because of the use of the word ‘nigger’. This classic piece of literature is forbidden because it may ‘trigger’ students.
If a single word is enough to justify this action, what’s stopping them from expanding this list? In fact, most writers before the 20th century could be said to have ‘misogynistic’ views that have no place in the classroom.
Although it’s unlikely that most Western countries will censor books to a great extent, it’s not something that should be completely ignored. This is one reason I started Masculine Books, to create a website where people could unapologetically find and share great books that evoke truth and wisdom.
I intend to keep it that way.
